Taylor Fritz puts Sinner and Alcaraz above Djokovic, Nadal and Federer in fast rallies

Taylor Fritz recently talked about what it’s like to play against Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. When comparing the speed of their rallies, the American player ranked the pair higher than Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.

Former world No. 1 Mats Wilander controversially asserted that no one, including the Big 3, has ever played better tennis than the two after their most recent encounter in the China Open final.

Fritz, who has played with all five of the players and has lost to all but Nadal (2-2), provided a firsthand account of how the younger players line up against the more experienced ones.

During his meetings with Sinner and Alcaraz, he highlighted the insane speed of baseline rallies, implying that the two exhibit the same skill but are significantly faster.

Fritz talked about it and said: “They just play these lateral baseline points. I don’t know what these crazy points you see Nadal and Federer—mostly you see Nadal and Novak have these long points corner to corner. But when Sinner and Alcaraz do it, I swear they’re doing the same rallies but hitting the ball 10 mph faster. It’s crazy.”
