The American had a great run in Nottingham to win the event after edging Cuevas in the final 7-6 (5) 7-5.

The world no.38 was elated with this win to comment “It feels really good, I’m not going to lie. I had some ups and downs so far this year. To find my groove on the grass is fantastic. I had a good week at Queen’s Club and felt pretty comfortable on the grass. Once I got here and played my first couple of matches, I knew I was definitely a contender to win this.”
Johnson is the third 1st-time winner of the season after Kyrgios won Marseille and Schwartzman triumphed in Istanbul.
Now time for Steve to move to Wimbledon where he will face Malek Jaziri in the opener.
