Following the retirement announcement of Spain’s legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal, fans are going crazy over tickets for the Davis Cup quarterfinal. In the Open era, the 38-year-old is frequently considered one of the best men’s tennis players in history in the singles division.
The cost of tickets on the resale market has skyrocketed since Nadal declared that his final match would be at the Copa Davis in Malaga in November.
Nadal recently released a heartfelt video announcing his retirement from professional tennis. In the forthcoming Davis Cup, the former world number one declared that he would play his final match, representing Spain in the quarterfinals. The most recent report states that the cost of the competition’s tickets has increased to approximately €34,500.
In the video, Nadal expressed his enthusiasm for taking part in the competition. He said: “It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make. But, in this life, everything has a beginning and an end. And I think it’s the right time to put an end to a career that has been long and much more successful than I could have ever imagined. But, I am very excited that my last tournament will be the final of the Davis Cup and representing my country. I think I’ve come full circle since one of my first joys as a professional tennis player was the Davis Cup final in Seville in 2004.”
