Coco Gauff Delights In Wholesome Fan Moments After China Open Triumph

Coco Gauff, who recently secured another major title at the 2024 China Open, shared some heartwarming and amusing fan interactions that brought a smile to her face during the tournament. The 20-year-old tennis star, known for her grace both on and off the court, recalled two standout moments involving her loyal supporters in Beijing.

One particularly touching memory involved an older man holding up a handmade sign adorned with hearts and stars. Gauff recounted her surprise at the fan’s enthusiasm, especially given that her fanbase typically skews younger. “There was like an old man,” Gauff said, “he had my name holding like a pink sign with my name, it had hearts and stars and stuff. I just wasn’t expecting it. I’ve never had that from like an older fan before. Usually young ones.” Gauff was visibly moved by the gesture, noting that the fan was excited to have his sign signed by her. “He just wanted it to be signed. He was very appreciative of it,” she added. “It just meant a lot to me to see maybe someone a lot older supporting me and coming out with the sign.”

In another hilarious interaction, Gauff recalled an enthusiastic woman who kept yelling, “I love you, I love you,” after Gauff’s final match. The fan’s energy was so contagious that both the security guards and Gauff herself couldn’t help but laugh. “The security guards were laughing. I was laughing because of how enthusiastic she was,” Gauff shared, clearly amused by the situation.

These lighthearted moments reflect the affection and diverse support Gauff continues to receive from fans all over the world. Despite her growing stature in the tennis world, Gauff remains grounded and appreciative of the connections she forms with her supporters. These personal and sometimes humorous encounters, like the ones in Beijing, highlight the warmth and admiration Gauff inspires both on and off the court.
