WIMBLEDON DRAW. Amanda Anisimova, Dayana Yastremska, Marketa Vondrousova’s projected path

Wimbledon is about to start and even if there is a wide consensus about the top favorites (Ashleigh Barty, Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams), there are 3 upcoming players that can create major upsets: Amanda Anisimova, Dayana Yastremska, Marketa Vondrousova.

Amanda Anisimova

The 17-year-old from the US has recently reached the semifinal at the French Open playing on her least favorite surface: clay. Currently ranked no.26, Amanda has recently reached the quarters in Mallorca before losing 6-2 6-2 to Belinda Bencic.

In Wimbledon, in the first round, Amanda will face Sorana Cirstea (world no.76) before possibly play Magda Linette (75), Petra Kvitova (6), and Sloane Stephens (9). If Amanda manages to find a way through, she is projected to play Kiki Bertens (4) in the quarters and Ashleigh Barty (1) in the semifinal.

Dayana Yastremska

Even if the Ukrainian is having a great 2019 following her titles in Huan Hin and Strasbourg, she is struggling to find continuity in her game. However, is she is on on a given tournament she is difficult to stop.

In Wimbledon, Dayana will play Camila Giorgi (world no.41) in the first round and later she is projected to face Sofia Kenin (28), Naomi Osaka (2), and Caroline Wozniacki (14). Later on, Dayana may face Simona Halep (7) in the quarters and Karolina Pliskova (3) in the semifinal.

Marketa Vondrousova

The talented Czech had an outstanding run at the French Open where she reached the final without dropping a single set on the way.

In Wimbledon, Marketa is projected to play the world no.88 Madison Brengle in the opening match before possibly facing Carolina Muchova (68), Anett Kontaveit (2), and Karolina Pliskova (3). In the quarters, Marketa may clash against Elina Svitolina (6) and in the semifinal with Naomi Osaka (2).
