Alcaraz Commends China Open Facilities, Saying That Everything Is Going Well For The Players

Carlos Alcaraz, the world’s number three tennis player, kicked off his China Open campaign with a victory over Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The tournament, which is part of the Asian tour and one of the final ATP 1000 events of the season, has undergone notable improvements, much to the delight of the players. The Spaniard, fresh off his Laver Cup success, praised the facilities and the tournament’s overall organization.

“This tournament, for me, is really good. We have a lot of facilities. The gym is pretty good, the locker rooms, the areas, the players’ lounge. Everything is quite good for the players,” Alcaraz said, reflecting on his experience at the Beijing National Tennis Center.

With 34 courts, including indoor and clay options, and improved gym and rest areas, the China Open has taken strides to enhance the experience for its competitors. Other players, including Aryna Sabalenka, also commended the revamped facilities.

“The people here are very friendly. They are always trying to help us, to make us feel as comfortable as possible,” Alcaraz added, noting the welcoming atmosphere.

Alcaraz, a two-time Wimbledon champion, aims to improve on his semifinal finish from last year, where he lost to Jannik Sinner. With a strong push, he is targeting the world No. 1 spot before the end of the season, but it will require consistent performances in the remaining tournaments.
