US Open champion Jannik Sinner fired his previous staff members in a doping case and on Monday, he welcomed a new physiotherapist and fitness coach to his team.

Ulises Badio becomes Sinner’s physiotherapist, and Marco Panichi takes over as fitness coach. Panichi and Badio had collaborated with Novak Djokovic in the past. Sinner also keeps up his work with Andrea Cipolla, his osteopath.

Sinner tested positive for steroids twice in March, but he was not suspended when it was discovered that the drug Clostebol had accidentally entered his system during a massage from Giacomo Naldi, his former physiotherapist.

Sinner claimed that Umberto Ferrara, his former personal trainer, bought a steroid-containing spray and gave it to Naldi for a cut on his finger. Then Naldi did not wear gloves as she treated Sinner. Before the US Open, Sinner made his firings of Naldi and Ferrara public.

On Monday, Panichi and Badio formally began working with Sinner in Monaco. Together, they will accompany the two-time Grand Slam winner to upcoming competitions in Beijing and Shanghai.
