A recent energetic Padel for CANSA competition was held in the lively city of Mbombela, bringing together community members of all ages and fitness levels for a day of fun, fitness, and charity. 75 eager competitors showcased their abilities and sportsmanship in an Americano format, held on September 7th at the Play 360 location.

The tournament’s main objective was to collect money for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) in addition to selecting the best players. The money generated will help CANSA fulfill its goals of educating the public, funding critical cancer research, and offering valuable support services. In keeping with CANSA’s overarching goals, the event also attempted to encourage healthy lives.

Kurt Darren, a local star, made a special visit to support the players, adding to the joyous atmosphere. There was a lot of excitement and friendship throughout the entire day as matches started at 8:00 AM and went until early evening. The competition demonstrated the unifying force of sports in the battle against cancer by embracing participants from all walks of life.

Following an incredible day of play, the top eight players were honored, with Berna Claassens emerging victorious. The organizing committee, under the direction of Riaan Loubser, conveyed their appreciation for the tremendous turnout and support.
