Nick Kyrgios talked about his relationship with Novak Djokovic in a recent podcast. The former world No. 13 went on to talk about how frequently the two still message and share memes.

Kyrgios And Djokovic

Recently, Nick Kyrgios shared details about how his relationship with Novak Djokovic has changed. Although Kyrgios and Djokovic had their disagreements in the past, the Australian and the Serb appear to get along well these days.

At the Australian Open in 2021, tensions between Kyrgios and Djokovic became apparent. Just before the hardcourt major, Djokovic sent a letter to Craig Tiley, the tournament director, outlining ideas for easing the COVID-19 quarantine restrictions. Kyrgios disapproved of the letter and criticized the Serb with a word that was rather offensive.

At a subsequent press conference, Kyrgios was questioned about his opinions regarding Djokovic’s perspective. The Australian showed surprise, stating that if the criticism had been based on Kyrgios’ contentious past on the court, he would have understood the Serb’s viewpoint.

In a recent podcast, Kyrgios discussed his relationship with Djokovic. The Australian also made a quick return to playing the Serb in the Wimbledon 2022 championship match.

Kyrgios talked about it and said: “The fact that I played a Slam final with Novak at Wimbledon is crazy because we’re so different that now we’re like friends and it’s amazing and I get to hit with him and help him; it’s pretty cool.”

The former world No. 13 continued by discussing how frequently the two continue to exchange memes and messages.

He added: “Yeah, it’s crazy. I never thought that I’d be really good friends with Novak Djokovic at all, and it’s not just on the courts. It’s like, We text each other, we send ridiculous memes and all this stuff on Instagram.”
