Stefanos Tsitsipas, who was eliminated by Swiss qualifier Dominic Stricker on Wednesday in the second round of the US Open, refused to say that his poor performance was the result of his new coaching staff.

Despite her two Grand Slam final appearances, Tsitsipas has never advanced past the third round of the U.S. Open and has a dismal record at Flushing Meadows.

Only one of his three matches at the Canadian Open and Cincinnati Masters was won by him in the lead-up to the tournament.

In his recent Instagram post, Tsitsipas stated that money is merely a tool for achieving freedom. He uploaded some stunning pictures of his tour. Paula Badosa, his girlfriend and his father were also in images posted.

He wrote: “Traveling the world has shown me that money isn’t the ultimate goal, but a tool for freedom—freedom to explore, connect, and live fully. As Socrates said, “He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have.” True wealth lies in experiences and time, a finite currency we must cherish. Through my travels, I’ve learned to love our planet, immersing myself in its beauty and aligning with my values. The reward isn’t just in the places I’ve seen, but how they’ve shaped me—deepening my appreciation for life and its endless possibilities.”

He wrote further: “Here are some photos that capture meaningful moments—people chasing dreams, landscapes that hold immense value, and reflections on time’s passage. Each reminds me of life’s intricacies, the dance between the present and future, and the shared journey we all embrace in pursuit of purpose and dreams.”
