Murray wins the Rome semifinal in 59 minutes

Easy stuff for Andy Murray that has reached the final in Rome after beating Pouille 6-2 6-1 in just 59 minutes. The young Frenchman surprised everybody after reaching the semifinal after taking advantage of a series of lucky circumstances: first Lucas lost in the qualifications to Kukushkin; then he was taken in the main draw (2nd round) after Tsonga retired as a (very) lucky loser; after he survived Gulbis (not in his best form) in the 2nd round, he defeated a struggling Ferrer in the 3rd; finally, Lucas got to the semifinal after Monaco retired in the quarters. Pouille had to face the reality when he played Murray in the semifinal to win just 3 games. Lucas took a nice check of 177.015 Euro and 360 ATP points after his “lucky stroll” in Rome.

Murray. That was easy

Andy was happy with his match to comment “To get like a win in the semi-finals of a Masters 1000 losing five points on serve is the first time that’s happened in my career, and that’s been the most pleasing thing for me.”

The final vs. Djokovic

Murray will play the final against Djokovic. The head to head is 23-9 for Djokovic, 4-0 for Nole on clay. The world no.1 has recently defeated Murray in the final in Madrid; let’ s see if Andy can avenge that.
