Alcaraz, Djokovic, Gauff Swiatek The Highest Paid Players According To Forbes

Carlos Alcaraz has emerged as the highest-paid tennis player, surpassing Novak Djokovic in Forbes’ annual rankings. Alcaraz, the 21-year-old Spanish sensation, earned an estimated $42.3 million over the past 12 months, which includes income from both on-court performance and lucrative endorsements with brands like Nike, Rolex, and BMW. This marks a significant milestone for Alcaraz, who has rapidly ascended the financial ladder in the tennis world since his breakthrough on the international stage.

Djokovic, despite securing his 24th Grand Slam title and winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, fell to second place with $37.2 million in earnings. While Djokovic still leads in prize money with $12.2 million, Alcaraz’s impressive $32 million from endorsements and other appearances has solidified his position at the top.

The combined earnings of the top 10 highest-paid tennis players this year reached $246 million, reflecting a 26% increase from the previous year. The list, dominated by younger players, showcases the sport’s evolving financial landscape, with Alcaraz leading a new generation of top earners. Notably, four women made the top 10, emphasizing tennis as a sport where male and female athletes enjoy comparable financial success.

Alcaraz’s earnings are the highest for any player outside of Federer, Djokovic, Naomi Osaka, and Rafael Nadal since Forbes began tracking tennis earnings 17 years ago. With four Grand Slam titles already under his belt before turning 22, Alcaraz’s rise signals a promising future for tennis, both in terms of talent and financial prospects.
