This is not a great year for Serena Williams; the world no.1 has participated only in 3 tournaments, and she hasn’t won a title yet. Serena has just announced that she will not play in Madrid citing (a mysterious) illness. Radwanska will be the top seed.
The official statement was “Unfortunately, I have to withdraw from Madrid because I have been suffering from fever and I do not feel 100%. I hope to return soon.”

The weird stuff is that the American has just posted a pic on Instagram few hours ago where she doesn’t really look sick. She looks rather happy.
