Not only has Mallorca produced some of the world’s top athletes, but it is also the location of some of the top sports businesses. And then, there is Brisk, a brand-new, innovative luxury padel company that is holding its inaugural international tournament right now at the Pins Padel Club in Palma. In Palma, prominent local lawyer Alejandro Bellapart and Kuwaiti businesswoman and Mallorca homeowner Haya Alghanim came up with the idea for Project Brisk.

Afterwards, they assembled a group of Spanish professionals with vast experience in the industry to realize the initiative and establish what is set to become one of the top brands of padel equipment worldwide.

The Mallorcan business, which made an investment in Kuwait, has already held its first global tournament there. It is hosting its second this week in Palma, inviting over 100 of the top padel players worldwide, including those from the GCC, to compete. Haya told the Bulletin that she chose to conduct the inaugural European championship in Mallorca because the product was well-known on the island.

Carlos Moya, Rafael Nadal’s coach, is the brand ambassador. Haya commented: “The idea, the name and the team all came together in Mallorca and that is why we have the great legendary tennis player Carlos Moya as the brand’s ambassador.

Plus, I like Mallorca, I love Mallorca and want to get to know it better. It’s beautiful. So, not only has Mallorca become a second home over the past three years, it is also the home of Brisk.

The design, the technical team, everything is from Spain and it’s an excellent team with highly professional people in each of their fields. I hope to develop Brisk into one of the top five brands in the global market within the next two years. Padel is not a new sport and it’s known worldwide today because of all the different people who play it. I see a very good future for the game and it will gain even more importance once it becomes an Olympic sport.”
