Tsitsipas reveals the huge support he receives from his girlfriend Paula Badosa

Stefanos Tsitsipas gave a response when asked if his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, was the reason behind his split from his father over coaching.

Tsitsipas And Badosa

Stefanos Tsitsipas has responded to inquiries about whether his breakup with his father over coaching came from his girlfriend Paula Badosa.

Jack Draper overcame a setback to defeat Tsitsipas and advance to the third round of the Cincinnati Open. Tsitsipas broke for 5-4 in the decisive set, but Draper closed out the match with 12 straight points to win 3-6 6-4 7-5.

Tsitsipas has had intermittent coaching throughout his career from his father Apostolos. However, he disclosed last week that their professional relationship was ending. Tsitsipas frequently confides in his girlfriend Badosa. And he was asked if, in making the crucial choice, he sought her counsel.

But the Greek tennis player disclosed that Badosa did not influence his father’s coaching split. He talked about it and said: “Paula is a great source of support. I’ve always spoken greatly of her because she’s been there in my toughest moments and she always was compassionate. She was always a shoulder to lean on when moments like this occur.”

Tsitsipas continued: “This was entirely my decision, not influenced by anyone else. It was a difficult one to make, and I didn’t actually advise her, which I guess would have been a normal thing to do when you’re in a relationship. I felt like it was something I had to maybe think throughout myself, and get it processed in my own mind and on my own terms.”
