Why Carlos Alcaraz will not get his Olympic tattoo after winning the silver

Carlos Alcaraz had said before the Olympics that he would get a souvenir tattoo for the gold medal, just like he did for all of his major victories. When asked, of course, if he had a tattoo to honour his silver medal, he replied that the rule only applied to gold medal winners.

Alcaraz At Olympics

Carlos Alcaraz competed in his first Olympics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. He decided to stay at the Olympic Village as a result, and among other athletes, he was one of the most sought-after for photos and attention.

The only person to beat Alcaraz was Novak Djokovic, who used an incredible last set to fulfil his Olympic gold medal goal at the expense of his youthful opponent, who was defeated in the final.

The four-time Grand Slam champion was overcome with emotion after losing to Djokovic in a close match to win the gold in Paris.

He talked about it and said: “I always want to be better, and I always think I can do better. I think I had a great summer. obviously, I wanted the gold medal. After the matches I win or lose, I like to find the bad things I did and try to be better in the next match and not make the same mistakes. That’s what I saw in Paris, that I couldn’t deal with this situation as well as I wanted and that’s what I was thinking after the match.”

Alcaraz said before the Olympics that he would get a souvenir tattoo for the gold medal, just like he does for all of his significant victories. When asked if he had a tattoo to honour his silver medal, he said that this only pertained to gold medal winners, of course.

He added: “No, because I didn’t get the gold! If I could have won the gold medal, I would have gotten a tattoo.”
