Federer Reveals He Is Hopeful That Novak Djokovic Breaks More Records

Roger Federer recently shared his thoughts on Novak Djokovic’s pursuit of tennis records, expressing hope that the Serbian player continues to achieve new milestones. “Hopefully Novak Djokovic can continue to break records,” Federer remarked, acknowledging the competitive nature of the sport and the challenges faced by another tennis great, Rafael Nadal. Federer noted that Nadal, too, has been navigating a difficult period and is focused on maximizing his victories.

Reflecting on his own illustrious career, Federer expressed a sense of relief following his retirement. “I feel really relieved now and I see every athlete or every person who gives the highest level that has all my respect,” Federer stated, emphasizing the immense physical and mental effort required to compete at the highest level. He mentioned the staggering number of matches he played—1,526—likening his career to running numerous marathons.

Federer candidly described the latter stages of his career, recalling the intense preparation and effort involved in each match. “It was fun, but especially towards the end I remember the warm-up, the breaks, and the warm-up to go out and play. It was a monumental effort,” he reflected. Despite the challenges, Federer acknowledged the significance of tennis in his life, remarking, “Yes, it’s just tennis, but it’s your life and you tried to do your best in front of people.”

Federer’s comments highlight his respect for the ongoing achievements of his peers while offering a personal glimpse into the demands of a career that captivated fans around the world.
