Lorenzo Musetti, the 22-year-old Italian tennis player, clinched the bronze medal at the Olympics, marking a significant milestone in his career. After months of adhering to a strict diet of plain pasta and chicken, Musetti expressed his excitement to celebrate his victory with a well-deserved pizza.
Reflecting on his journey, Musetti said, “Tonight, eat a pizza. I cannot eat plain pasta and chicken one more time. It has been three months; this is all I have been eating. I deserve a pizza.”
Beyond the immediate celebration, Musetti looked forward to returning to Italy to share his triumph with his family. “The first thing I will do once home will be to share this moment with my family. I am looking forward to staying with my girlfriend and my son for a few days before leaving for Cincinnati,” he shared.
Musetti’s gratitude extended to his family and supporters, dedicating his victory to them. “Maybe it is a little obvious, but I want to dedicate this to my family. The fact that one day I will be able to tell this tale to my son is very emotional. This victory is for them and for my team, who supports me and loves me. Also to all Italian fans,” he added.
Musetti’s bronze medal not only represents his personal and professional achievements but also underscores the support and love from those who have stood by him throughout his journey.
