Jannik Sinner Withdraws From Bastad

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the Nordea Open in Bastad, Sweden. The 22-year-old Italian tennis sensation felt unwell during his quarter-final loss to Daniil Medvedev at Wimbledon, leading to his decision to skip the ATP 250 clay-court event in Bastad. Sinner, who holds an impressive 42-4 record this year, cited exhaustion as the reason for his withdrawal. Despite this setback, fans can look forward to seeing defending champion Andrey Rublev, former titlist Casper Ruud, and former No. 1 Rafael Nadal competing in Bastad from July 15 to 21.

This was Jannik’s communicate.

“I’m sad to have to withdraw from Bastad next week due to fatigue. Never an easy decision as I would love to play, but following the advice from my team and doctors they have advised it’s best to take some time to rest and recover. I hope to play Bastad in the future, I’ve heard it’s a great tournament.”
