Zverev’s brother gives horrible news about Sascha’s knee injury

Regarding the recent injury that his brother Alexander Zverev sustained at Wimbledon, Mischa Zverev has given an update. The German has reportedly seen a doctor and could be sidelined indefinitely, jeopardising his chances of winning an Olympic gold medal.

Zverev Injury

Mischa Zverev has provided an update on his brother Alexander Zverev’s recent injury sustained at Wimbledon. The German may miss an extended period of time due to injury and could lose his chance of competing for an Olympic gold medal.

Once again at SW19, the fourth seed was eliminated in the fourth round after losing 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 6-3 on Monday after blowing a two-set lead against Taylor Fritz. During his victory over Cameron Norrie in the third round last week, he had undoubtedly been experiencing knee pain due to an unfortunate mishap.

To determine the full degree of his injury, Zverev underwent an X-ray as well. According to his older brother Mischa’s most recent update, the 27-year-old’s physical conditioning is seriously questioned, and he may be out for a few weeks.

The 36-year-old revealed that this week, the world No. 4 had seen another physician, who had taken 40 mm of accumulated fluid out of the bone marrow in the latter’s left knee. The former athlete who is now a commentator claimed that Zverev may miss the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which start later this month, even though the results were not yet in.

Mischa told this in a recent discussion and said: “Sascha (Alexander Zverev) saw a doctor again. He took 40 millilitres of fluid from his knee. Unfortunately, there is now a suspicion of something worse. Tomorrow he’ll see the doctor again at home in Monaco. More detailed pictures will then be taken. Maybe it’s more than a bone bruise after all. If it’s a fracture or a hairline fracture, we’ll have to see. But then the Olympics are in danger.”
