Coco Gauff lambasts her coach Brad Gilbert during tough match vs. Navarro at Wimbledon

Emma Navarro upset Coco Guff 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday night, but it's possible that the match didn't focus much on the loss since Guff got into a heated argument with her coach Brad Gilbert and her staff.

Coco Gauff And Her Coach

While Emma Navarro easily defeated Coco Gauff on Sunday night, 6-4, 6-3, the match didn’t generate much conversation since Gauff got into an argument with her coach Brad Gilbert and her squad.

With a commanding 6-4, 6-3 victory over US Open champion Gauff, who appeared helpless as she begged her box to tell her something, Navarro secured her place in her first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Given that Gauff was by far the most seasoned player still playing, it has completely opened up the bottom half of the draw.

Gauff put in a double fault and began slinging errors, looking helpless, before breaking again. Her body language was obvious; she waved her arms in disgust at the team after losing 1-4 and shook her head on the way back.

Gauff shouted at her team: “Tell me something. You guys aren’t saying anything.”

Gauff expressed her thoughts after the match and said: “We had a game plan going in. I felt that it wasn’t working. I don’t always ask for advice on the box. Today was one of those rare moments where I felt I didn’t have solutions. I don’t want to say I didn’t have any because I think I’m capable of coming up with some. I think today, mentally, a lot was going on. I felt like I wanted more direction from the box.”

She further said: “It’s happened before. I wouldn’t say it’s happened before with the combination of JC and Brad, but it’s happened before when I felt like I needed more direction. They usually give me something. I felt today that I didn’t think we were all in sync. It’s no one’s fault except myself. I mean, I’m the player out there. I have to make decisions for myself on the court.”
