Superb Tsonga crushes Zverev in the 1st round of the Mercedes Cup

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga ousts Mischa Zverev 6-3 6-0 in the 1^st round in Stuttgart on Monday after playing a fantastic match to square off with either Milos Raonic or Alexei Popyrin in the 2^nd round.

The Match

First set. There was not much difference between the 2 players. The only difference was when Tsonga broke Zverev in the 8th game (5-3) before winning the set 6-3.

Second set. This set was a no contest after Tsonga conceded no games to his opponent before winning the set 6-0. 

Zverev was not able to offer any resistance during the match after he dropped the last 9 games (from 3-3 to 3-6 – 6-0).

Tsonga won 16 consecutive points (from 0-0 to 4-0)
