Emma Raducanu has acknowledged that she does not believe Andy Murray will retire from tennis entirely anytime soon. Murray is currently fighting to be ready for the Grand Slam next week, which many believe will be his final match at the All England club.
Murray had back surgery lately in the hopes of returning to the SW19 competition. When he sustained yet another injury setback during his match against Jordan Thompson in the Queen’s Club Championship, his chances of accomplishing so were severely damaged.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has previously ruled out competing in the US Open or Davis Cup and stated that retiring at Wimbledon or the Olympic Games this summer would be suitable. Although Murray seems to be retiring consistently, Raducanu finds it impossible to envision tennis without the former world No. 1 player.
Raducanu expressed her thoughts about Nadal and said: “From what I know of Andy, he just loves tennis, he loves the sport and the challenges that come with it. He doesn’t care about what anyone thinks or says about him. He loves doing what he does and I think for him to finally let go of tennis. I just don’t see it happening. But I’d be happy if he played for a very long time to come. Physically it’s such a demanding sport and situation to be in, especially with his surgery. I want to see him going for as long as possible.”
