Andy Murray says he hasn’t decided if he will be able to attend Wimbledon next week after his spine surgery on Saturday.
Murray, who has struggled with fitness ever since he injured his back, withdrew from his Queen’s second-round match on Wednesday because he was experiencing pain in his knee and back.
After undergoing surgery on Saturday, the 37-year-old was told to take a six-week break. As a result, he withdrew from Wimbledon, which starts on July 1 and he was scheduled to compete in the men’s singles and doubles alongside his older brother, Jamie, according to a report published on Sunday.
The ATP, the governing body of the men’s tour, tweeted: “After an operation on a spinal cyst, Andy Murray is sadly out of Wimbledon. Rest up and recover Andy, we’ll miss seeing you there.”
However, Murray’s camp quickly put down that message from social media and informed everyone that he hadn’t decided whether or not to participate yet.
Murray’s team made an official statement on Monday morning, saying: “Following his surgery on Saturday, Andy is continuing to work with his medical team to confirm when he will return to the court. At this stage, no decisions have been made.”

The Sun says his camp wasn’t happy that the details of his procedure were leaked and that the announcement was made prematurely.
