Albert Molina, Carlos Alcaraz’s agent, has discussed his duties in managing the Spaniard’s interactions with the outside world. Molina disclosed that he helps Alcaraz’s team by preventing potential attackers from getting close to the three-time Grand Slam champion.
More recently, on June 9, Alcaraz won his first-ever French Open title. In the final match, the Spaniard defeated Alexander Zverev 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. Alcaraz hit several landmarks, and his fame is still expanding quickly.
It should come as no surprise that this has caused interest in the Spaniard to soar among people and companies alike. As world No. 2’s representative, Molina monitors who reaches Alcaraz and who does not.
During a recent podcast interview, Molina stated that turning down inquiries from potential clients is one of the worst aspects of his work for the Spaniard’s team.
Molina said: “One of the worst parts of my job has to do with rejecting communication with some people or sectors interested in Alcaraz. Not only with interested people who sign up at the moment and want to talk to or be close to Carlos at that moment.”
The agent for Alcaraz also discussed how they all handled the Spaniard’s private calls. He added: “We cut off personal calls unless he says that one is important. Opportunists have no option but to talk to him. Some people don’t go through me. I’m sure there will also be some female calls we didn’t find out.”
