Marta Marrero, a Canarian player, will play opposite Argentinean Aranzazu Osoro in the Bordeaux P2 of Premier Padel in June of next year.
The former World Padel Tour leader made the decision to discontinue her profession at the end of 2022 in order to focus entirely on raising a family. Her most recent match, which she played with Luciana Sainz at the World Padel Tour Master Final in Barcelona on December 15, raised the possibility of a comeback, which she only recently revealed to the publication Sport.
The 41-year-old Argentine player Aranzazu Osoro, nicknamed the “Viking,” will be her partner at the French event, which takes place from June 8 to June 16. After giving birth to Flavia in November, he will reunite with her on 20×10 a year and a half later in Barcelona.
Marrero started out as a tennis player but eventually switched to padel tennis. She became well-known as a professional in 2016 and 2019, finishing first on the World Padel Tour alongside Marta Ortega and Alejandra Salazar, respectively. She will now attempt to continue taking part in a sport that has gained worldwide popularity and turned into an unstoppable craze.
