Roger Federer’s historic career came to an end at the Laver Cup in September 2022, when the Swiss legend competed for the final time. Fans will get to relive that memorable moment and much more on 20 June, when “FEDERER: Twelve Final Days” is released on Prime Video.
Academy Award-winning director Asif Kapadia and his co-director Joe Sabia followed the former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings as he announced the end of his 24-year professional career. The documentary provides unprecedented access to the final 12 days of Federer’s career, with the 103-time tour-level titlist discussing the reasons behind his retirement decision and what it means to him and his family.
Federer’s final match took place in London’s O2 Arena, where he teamed with long-time rival and friend Rafael Nadal for Team Europe against Team World. The mixed-teams event became a celebration for Federer and a host of fellow stars including Bjorn Borg, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.
The documentary promises to offer an intimate look at Federer’s farewell to professional tennis, capturing the emotions and reflections of one of the sport’s greatest players as he bids adieu to the game.
