Carlos Alcaraz, who turns 21 today and is thought to be Rafael Nadal’s heir apparent, is not exactly having a nice birthday. Not only has the young man, who has been tipped as the next great thing in tennis, been playing with injury, but they appear to have struck with the Spaniard’s physique.
The young Spanish player who stunned the tennis world by defeating Novak Djokovic to win the Grand Slam at Wimbledon in 2023 was regarded as a celebrity. After all, he had previously sent New York City into an uproar during the final Grand Slam of 2022.
Alcaraz’s multiple injuries are making people wonder if they will see his comeback at a time when tennis fans are unsure.
Alcaraz posted on social media platform X recently: “I felt some pain after playing in Madrid, some discomfort in my arm. Unfortunately, I will not be able to play in Rome. I need to rest so I can recover and play 100% pain-free. I am very sorry. I will see you next year.”

This season Alcaraz has managed to achieve an overall 18-5 win-loss record. This year, the Spaniard conquered 1 title in Indian Wells.
Alcaraz has scheduled to compete next in Rome (Internazionali BNL d’Italia). He will start from the main draw that will commence on the 8th of May.
