Stefanos Tsitsipas replies to Rafael Nadal saying his prediction was nonsense

After Rafael Nadal's second-round exit, Stefanos Tstisipas declared he did not mind being mistaken, claiming the legendary Spaniard always recovers from setbacks due to injuries.

Nadal And Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas responded to Rafael Nadal’s remark that the Spaniard’s prospects of winning the Barcelona Open were foolish.

After Nadal’s second-round tournament withdrawal, Tstisipas stated he does not mind being incorrect, claiming the legendary Spaniard always recovers from setbacks due to injuries. Tsitsipas voiced his optimism before Nadal’s comeback in Barcelona, saying he wouldn’t be shocked to see the tennis veteran make it to the final match.

But Nadal disagreed with Tsitsipas’ evaluation, even though the Greek’s remarks were motivated by his past success in the competition.

Tsitsipas pointed to the Spaniard’s track record of recovering from injuries to explain why he had no problem with his forecast being proven incorrect after Nadal’s loss to Alex De Minaur.

Tsitsipas expressed his thoughts about it and said: “I don’t mind being wrong, I’m not here to bet or make predictions. Rafa has had some injuries in the past but he always comes back. Especially since it was in Barcelona, his favourite tournament, at home. I saw a little bit of the match, I would say that de Minaur and three or four other players will fight for the title here.”
