The tennis superstar Jannik Sinner, targets both the Olympic Games and Roland Garros in France as he starts his clay court season at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Italian has been in incredible form this year, winning 22 of his 23 matches and rising to a career-high ranking of No. 2 in the world. He won his first Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open at the beginning of the season.

Sinner, who was also instrumental in Italy’s victory in the Davis Cup last year, discussed his objectives for 2024 in an interview.

This week in Monte Carlo, the rising tennis star makes his debut on clay with a specific objective in mind. Sinner stated his main goals in the interview and said: “To be ready for Roland Garros and the Olympics.”

Sinner further said: “The tournaments on hard surfaces went well, now we will see what happens on clay. I played well here last year (he lost in the semi-finals) but it was worse afterwards, so we’ll see. It will be difficult because it’s a surface where I usually have problems. I feel better on hard courts, which doesn’t mean I’m not good on clay, but at the beginning of the Tour, my expectations are not very high. The goal is to be ready for Roland Garros and the Olympics. Monte Carlo will be like a training week, I hope to play more than one match.”
