Matteo Berrettini managed to win the clay-court title after a couple of tough years. This is what he said during his speech.
“I want to thank my team. It’s been a tough past couple of years and thanks to them I was able to overcome all the tough moments. My body wasn’t allowing me to play, so it’s thanks to them that I am here.I also want to thank all the people that made my comeback possible. All my friends, my family, people that were with me all the times when I was sad and injured, and I didn’t think I could make it, so thank you very much.”

Currently the world no.84, Matteo played his last match on the 7th of April when he defeated world no.73 Roberto Carballes Baena 7-5 6-2 in the final in Marrakech to win his 8th career title.
Presently, during this year the Italian achieved a compiled 9-2 record. The Italian has won 1 title in Marrakech. Berrettini was the finalist in the Phoenix Challenger.
He is also scheduled to play in Munich (BMW Open) on the 15th of April and Madrid (Mutua Madrid Open) on the 24th of April.
