Raducanu says she is not ‘too concerned’ about results in the Indian Wells

Emma Raducanu says she isn't too worried about the result of the tournament and instead wants to concentrate on becoming better this week at Indian Wells.

Raducanu Not Worried

Emma Raducanu says she wants to focus on improving her game at Indian Wells this week and is not too concerned about the tournament’s outcome.

The former US Open champion returned from triple surgery on both wrists and one ankle this spring, and she has prevailed in three of her seven matches in 2024.

The BNP Paribas Open’s first round begins on Wednesday, and Raducanu will play Spanish qualifier Rebeka Masarova on Thursday. Raducanu stated in an interview before her first game of the year that improving her game is her top aim for this season.

She expressed her thoughts and said: “I want to work on becoming a better tennis player. I think for me, I’m not too concerned about this year’s tournaments. A lot of people out there would say that I need matches, but I think that for me, I want to work on my game and development.”

She added: “Taking time to do that is very necessary, not just following the crowd, playing a lot of matches, or dropping down (below the WTA Tour) to do that. I want to work on developing skills.”
