Stefanos Tsitsipas overcame Flavio Cobolli to get to the Mexican Open quarterfinal in Acapulco despite nearly losing his lead in the second set.
The two-time Grand Slam runner-up had gotten off to a strong start in his opening game. In the event’s first round, Tsitsipas won with ease. He was expecting Cobolli to have a similar performance.
More people than at the last game were inside the stadium cheering for him. Because of Tsitsipas’s kindness in helping the Acapulco people, he was well-appreciated at the event. Tsitsipas was spotted giving autographs to his lovely fans after his match-winning performance.
