Goran Ivanisevic has won 22 tournaments and 1 slam (Wimbledon 2001), so he knows what it takes to be at top in tennis.
The former world no.2 has been impressed by rising star Borna Coric that has already managed to upset huge players such as Nadal and Murray (Andy was trashed 6-1 6-3) and he is a strong candidate to dominate tennis in the years to come.
Ivanisevic: Coric can win a slam
During a recent interview with the CNN Goran said that Coric “Definitely can win a Grand Slam. He’s one of the five, six guys that is definitely going to dominate in men’s tennis in the next five or 10 years.
I saw him for the first time when he was 12 years old. When somebody has something, that thing that you cannot buy, that you cannot learn, you have to be born with it. The way he plays points, the way he’s fighting, he’s like a pit bull. When a pit bull bites, he doesn’t let you go. That’s him.”
Coric is currently ranked 38 and he has just won the challenger 50 in Barranquilla. At 18 years of age he has a great future… the present is not that bad either!
