Azarenka attacks Bouchard

Vika Azarenka and Genie Bouchard are probably not best friends right now.

Genie “stole” Vika’s coach Sam Sumyk early in the year, but that was the start of a disastrous season. Apparently Vika didn’t take it that well… but that is life!

After Genie lost her first match while partnering with Sumyk, Vika tweeted “Level of excitement right now on a scale 1 to 10 is about a 100.

Azarenka: I didn’t lose 11 consecutive matches

During a recent interview Vika was not pleased about a comparison between her and Genie. The question was “Genie Bouchard a couple of months ago said, yes, these experiences are learning experiences, but I’m kind of sick of learning. I’d like to get over it and move on. Can you relate to that a little bit?”

Vika replied “Well, I didn’t lose 11 matches in a row, so it’s a little bit different of a learning experience she has with herself. I’m not in the position to comment on what she’s done.”

Actually Genie has never lost 11 in a row, but that doesn’t really matter for the Belarussian.

Bouchard out of Wuhan

Genie had to retire from Wuhan to say “I am frustrated and disappointed that I won’t be able to compete at the Wuhan Open this week.

Having reached the final last year, I was very much looking forward to playing for the great fans here. I travelled to Wuhan with the intention of playing.

Unfortunately, my concussion symptoms came back during practice on Saturday and It would not be safe for me to go on court today. I will rest in Wuhan for the next few days to determine how I progress, and look forward to coming back here to play in this great city next year.”
