Tunisian tennis star Ons Jabeur has revealed her ongoing struggle with a persistent knee injury, expressing her disappointment as it impacts her game. Despite the setback, Jabeur remains optimistic and is determined to find a solution to address the recurring issue.
“We go way back with the knee; some tournaments it’s good, some tournaments it’s bad. I’ve been feeling it for the past week but today was the worst day. Usually during practice, I try to manage but during matches, it’s a bit tougher,” Jabeur shared about her ongoing battle with the knee injury.
The 27-year-old athlete, who has been making a mark on the tennis circuit with her impressive skills, expressed her sadness over the timing of the injury, especially when she was starting to feel confident about her game. Despite the challenges, Jabeur remains focused on finding a solution to maintain her performance levels.
“I’m a bit sad because I was starting to feel my game and feel good, and these injuries don’t help. The priority now is to find the solution to try and keep up, and hopefully I can do it,” she explained.
Jabeur also acknowledged the support she receives from fans, particularly at the tournaments where the crowd’s encouragement plays a significant role. Expressing her gratitude, she said, “I love how the people here cheer for me. I always feel sad when I lose because I want to win in front of them, I want to win for the kids but that’s tennis. I try to do my best.”
