INJURY? Why Jannik Sinner is not worried ahead of facing Djokovic in the semifinal

A stomach issue appeared to be bothering Jannik Sinner throughout his Australian Open quarterfinal victory, but he subsequently stated that he would be fine before facing Novak Djokovic in a highly anticipated match.

Sinner Talks About Facing Djokovic

Jannik Sinner seemed to be experiencing stomach pains throughout his run to the Australian Open quarterfinals, but he later declared himself to be alright before his eagerly awaited matchup with Novak Djokovic.

After defeating Andrey Rublev in straight sets, the Italian advanced to the semi-finals, where he will take on the top-seeded player in the world to secure a spot in the Sunday final. Sinner appeared uncomfortable and repeatedly held his stomach on points in the second set.

After the match, Sinner claimed that the issue might have been something he ate. Whatever was bothering Sinner appeared to go away by the time the third set rolled around, as he fought past Rublev to secure his semi-final position.

Sinner said in the post-match interview: “I think there was a bit of air in my stomach. I don’t know what exactly it was, so we have to check. Maybe it was something I ate before the match. It went away with a bit of time, and in the third set, I didn’t feel anything anymore. Hopefully, it’s going to be okay.”

Sinner faces 10-time Australian Open champion Djokovic in the semifinal match, so he will need to be in top form to make it to his first Grand Slam final.

Sinner expressed his thoughts about facing Djokovic: “Hopefully, I’m ready for a tough match. It’s going to be a difficult one, but I’m looking forward to playing against Novak. I’m really lucky to face him again. This is one of the biggest events in the world. I can play against number one. He won here. some times. It’s going to be tough but I will try my best and we will see what the outcome is.”
