Two-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz is not just making waves on the tennis court; he’s also influencing the world of luxury travel through a collaboration with Louis Vuitton. The Spanish tennis sensation, a global brand ambassador for the renowned fashion house since last year, recently unveiled a bespoke wardrobe trunk designed to cater to his tennis essentials in opulent style.

Alcaraz’s custom Louis Vuitton Malle Vestiaire exemplifies the brand’s timeless craftsmanship, featuring the iconic LV Monogram canvas meticulously applied to wood. The trunk boasts the classic brass closures, clasps, and rivets that have been synonymous with Louis Vuitton since the 1860s.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Alcaraz stated, “Working on this Malle Vestiaire with Louis Vuitton’s artisans has been a great experience and a privilege. I am really proud of what we’ve been able to create together with this collaboration.”

The personalized details of the trunk further elevate its uniqueness. Hand-painted “travel stickers” adorn the exterior, depicting a silhouette of a man playing tennis and a tennis ball inscribed with “Since 2003,” a nod to Alcaraz’s birth year.

Beyond its visually stunning exterior, the wardrobe trunk is a narrative of Alcaraz’s journey. Multiple drawers, racks, and compartments not only organize his belongings but also showcase significant milestones. The trunk proudly displays Alcaraz’s favorite LV x Nike Air Force 1s, the shirt worn during his Wimbledon victory, and Louis Vuitton gifts from notable figures like Pharrell Williams, the LV men’s creative director.

“For me, it is a bit of a time capsule from my first trophy at 10 years old, to my shirt and shoes from my Wimbledon win,” Alcaraz explained, highlighting the sentimental value embedded in the trunk.

Louis Vuitton, renowned for its heritage in trunk-making, introduced the Malle Vestiaire trunk last year with rugby legend Dan Carter. The brand’s foray into sports-themed luxury aligns with the approaching 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Carlos Alcaraz expressed his admiration for Louis Vuitton’s multifaceted approach, stating, “What I love about Louis Vuitton is that they are more than just a fashion brand. It is more than just clothes. The brand is ingrained in culture and has been for over 100 years.”

He continued, “They understand how to mix fashion with art, design, sport and music, to make something unique and special. The campaign with Messi and Ronaldo playing chess, for example. I think only Louis Vuitton could do that.”

For those eager to indulge in luxury akin to Alcaraz, a replica of the Malle Vestiaire trunk is available for approximately 150,000 euros ($164,000 USD). Each trunk is made to order, promising a fully customized, luxurious travel experience.
