Federer imperious to the Cincinnati semifinal. HIGHLIGHTS

What a match between two of the most exciting players on tour. Roger Federer was at his very best against Feliciano Lopez to dispatch the Spaniard in just 62 minutes (6-3 6-4).

Federer struggled just a bit in the second set when he was 2-3 down and he faced 3 break points (the first of the entire tournaments). Eventually Roger won that game to break Feliciano soon after.

Federer: I did feel good

Roger was very happy with his performance “I did feel good, especially in the first set. In the second set a little less maybe. It was also an important game to hold being down Love-40. That’s exactly the kind of match it can become. As an experienced tennis player, I’m aware that matches can turn around extremely quickly. It’s good I got out of that game and was able to break right away and then bring it home. Things tend to get away from you super fast against big servers, especially on a surface that’s faster like here. I’m very happy with the match.”

Next vs. Murray

Roger will play (a possibly exhausted) Andy Murray in the final. The Scott came out from 2 grueling 3 setters (before with Dimitrov and then Gasquet) and that could be taxing against a much fresher Federer. Head to head is 13-11 for Roger that has won the last 4 encounters conceding just a set.
