Belinda Bencic wins the title in Toronto!

Belinda Bencic wins a great title in Toronto. The Swiss won after Simona Halep retired in the third set of the final (heat illness). The retirement doesn’t take anything away from Belinda that had an unbelievable run in the Rogers Cup to beat on the way Bouchard, Wozniacki, Lisicki, Ivanovic, (the great) Serena Williams and now Halep.

Bencic: I am not good at speeches yet

Belinda was absolutely elated for this week, but she still needs to improve In a particular area…”I don’t think I’m so good at speeches yet! But first I want to congratulate Simona on a great week, and my mom, my dad and my team. And my fitness coach – I really needed my fitness today! And also Melanie Molitor, my coach – a big thank you to you too.

And of course a big thank you to all the crowd. You were amazing in every match this week. It’s just been such a special tournament, and I’ll never forget it – I can’t wait to come back next year.”

This is Belinda’s 2nd career title and after this week she will be ranked no.12. Nobody will be surprised if she will break in the top 10 soon.

Great!!!
