Emma Raducau Talking In An Interview

Emma Raducanu shared her positive and refreshed outlook before making her eagerly anticipated return at the 2024 ASB Classic. Raducanu, who last participated in competition on the tour in April, will return to action on January 1 at the WTA 250 event in Auckland.

Raducanu revealed to the media during the ASB Classic that she was feeling energized and thrilled about her upcoming return. The British player admitted to feeling a great deal of pressure after her incredible victory at the US Open in 2021, but she also said that she felt revitalized and prepared to return to the circuit.

Raducanu expressed her thoughts in a recent interview and said: “Yeah, I feel reborn in a way. I feel fresh, I feel ready, I feel happy, and I feel excited. So overall, I’m feeling very positive and lighter. I think that for two years after the US Open, I felt maybe a bit more like a weight on my shoulders, but now I feel completely fresh.”

After undergoing surgery on her wrists and ankle earlier in 2023, the 21-year-old jokingly expressed thanks for the small pleasures of being able to shower, wash her hair, and walk around without restriction.

She added: “It’s nice not to have three casts on you, so you know, just moving around and showering, everything, you appreciate just like being able to do your hair, stuff like that. So yeah, I’m just happy to be back playing.”
