Felix Auger-Aliassime elated for winning the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award

Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime was honored with the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award at the 2023 ATP Awards for his exceptional humanitarian work throughout the world.

Felix Auger Aliassime Wins The Humanitarian Award

Felix Auger-Aliassime, a tennis player from Canada, won the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award at the 2023 ATP Awards in recognition of his outstanding global humanitarian efforts. The honor bears the name of Arthur Ashe, an American tennis player who became the first black member of the USA Davis Cup team. He was well-known for his work with charities as well.

Auger-Aliassime expressed his happiness at being acknowledged not only as a player but also as a human being. His father did not have much access to sports or education while growing up in Tongo, a third-world nation.

He made sure his family had access to all of those amenities after realizing the significance of those two things after moving to Canada. He was thus aware of the scarcity of resources that some people experience from an early age, thanks to the stories his father told him.

Felix’s achievement of winning the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award this year is thus undoubtedly one of his points of interest and it is all the more remarkable for having done so by improving the lives of others. In the next few years, he will undoubtedly continue to work in the same manner.

He expressed his thoughts after winning this award: “When I was told I would receive the 2023 Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, I was pleasantly surprised. It was great news. But you don’t ever help others win awards. I know Arthur didn’t.”
