Bad news from Serena Williams that is not fit to play the WTA premier event in Stanford.
The world no.1 will not be able to defend her title because of an elbow injury that has also prevented her from completing the tournament in Bastad.
The American commented “I’m disappointed to have to withdraw from the Bank of the West Classic, but I need to get my elbow back to 100 percent. The tournament is one of my favorites and the fans have always been so generous and supportive of me. I wish all of the players much success and I hope to return next year.”
Serena will try to win the Grand Slam at the Flushing Meadows so she might try not to take any risk… let’s wait and see.
