MARKETING DISASTER. Dimitrov, Bouchard and Kyrgios slump. Federer rules.

If you thought that this Wimbledon was about the “super-marketable” newcomers, well you really had to think again.

King Roger

The most exciting player was “almost 34-year-old” Roger Federer… by far. Roger usually makes the racket doing the talk with his great and good looking tennis and his ability to still compete at his age at very high levels.

The Swiss played at an incredible in Wimbledon and almost 50% of the talk was about him, about his chances to win the Championship, his great game, his serve, his family etc.

Young (and marketing) disaster

The young guns failed.

In the men’s draw there was no newcomer shining with the 3 Big4 in the semis plus a seasoned player (Gasquet).

In the women’s draw things got a bit better just because Muguruza reached the final. Eventually the other 3 semifinalists were seasoned players such as Serena WilliamsSharapova and Radwanska. So no new marketing sensations.

What was really bad was the disaster of 3 of the most marketable players: Dimitrov, Bouchard and Kyrgios.

Dimitrov no.16

Dimitrov is having a dreadful year to also crash out in the 3rd round in Wimbledon at the hands of Gasquet is straight sets and without offering too much opposition (6-3 6-4 6-4). After this demise Grigor decided to sack his coach and friend Roger Rasheed. Grigor is now down to world no.16

Bouchard no.26

Genie Bouchard is the “disaster of the year”. In 2015 the Canadian has managed to destroy her image with a questionable (and completely unnecessary) behavior such as refusing a handshake just before the Fed Cup. On court Genie crashed out in 8 openers (!!!) to have a horrible 8-12 win/loss record in 2015. After crashing out in the opener n Wimbledon Bouchard dropped to world no.26.

Kyrgios no.41

Kyrgios had a horrible Wimbledon. The young gun has reached the 4th round, so that’s no bad, but his terrible behavior didn’t do any good to him that was criticized from all over the world and in Australia there were not really nice with him. After Wimbledon lost 12 places to be ranked no.41.

We hope no more misery will come, but he needs to talk less about respect, being cool and this “teenagerish stuffs” and he has to start to have a more professional behaviour.

A good hint—> Less twitter, more wins –> a little less conversation a little more action!
