Alexander Zverev has always stated his huge admiration for David Ferrer.
The irony is that it was on Wednesday it was Sascha to “end” David’s career in Madrid that was elected to be the last tournament of the Spanish legend. Zverev was losing 1-4 to David, but eventually he recovered to win that match 6-4 6-1.
The result and the entity of the score was by far the less important thing of the evening as everyone was drawn by David’s farewell.
Sascha had the nice touch to contain his happiness after beating Ferrer to give him a big hug at the net. Eventually, it was Ferrer’s evening and Sascha couldn’t refrain from getting some nice clips and post them in Instagram thanking and congratulating “Ferru” for his great career.
Touch of a champion.
