Stefanos Tsitsipas is in a fantastic mental place right now.
Ranked no.9, the 20-year-old is getting more and more confidence in his tennis. The upcoming Greek impressed in Estoril where he looked to be in complete control of his tennis and emotion to win his 3rd career title. The most remarkable thing of his latest success in Portugal was that Stefanos made it look like as a routinely win.
Stefanos is about to fight for a place in the quarters in Madrid after another convincing win over Adrian Mannarino (6-2 7-5).
Achieving the same results of the Big 3
During a recent interview with Ubi Tennis, Tsitispas commented
“I think it’s all a matter of time. Having players like Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer, I’m definitely happy to see how they perform and it will give me confidence and belief that I can do the same.
So it’s just a matter of time before I’m playing my best tennis. It’s very much related to my confidence as well.”
About small improvements
Tsitsipas also talked about the small improvement he had to work on after losing as early as in the 3rd round in bothMonte Carlo and Barcelona
“I worked with my dad the week before [playing in Estoril]. We worked on the courts and there were some micro-adjustments in order to improve my game and change something that didn’t work the week before.
I’m grateful for that, I’m grateful that we went back to court, worked hours and hours to perfect those things that we didn’t do well.”
