Jannik Sinner, the Italian tennis sensation, is making waves in the sport, and his coach, Simone Vagnozzi, sheds light on the continuous development of his game.
In an interview with SuperTennis, Vagnozzi discussed their strategic approach to Sinner’s improvement. Their collaboration, which began in February last year, had a clear goal: to equip Sinner with the skills needed to compete successfully against formidable opponents like Daniil Medvedev, who had been a challenging adversary.
While Sinner’s hard work and dedication have yielded impressive results, Vagnozzi emphasized that there’s still room for growth. Sinner is evolving both technically and tactically, and their work together aims to address these aspects.
Vagnozzi expressed gratitude to Angelo Binaghi, the president of the Italian tennis and padel federation, for his support during Sinner’s physical setback at the Davis Cup in Bologna after the US Open. They recognized the importance of a break to ensure Sinner’s fitness for the upcoming Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, marking the conclusion of his season.
Looking ahead to Sinner’s next match in Shanghai, Vagnozzi acknowledged the challenges of a quick turnaround. Sinner, fresh from a tournament win, faces Marcos Giron in the second round. Despite the tight schedule, they are determined to adapt swiftly to the new conditions and remain confident in their preparations.
As Sinner continues to evolve under the guidance of his dedicated coaching team, tennis fans eagerly anticipate his future accomplishments on the international stage.
