Federer about coming back on clay

Roger was no match for Gasquet that he is still finding his way after a hernia operation. However, the world no.3 could not hide his happiness about his comeback to comment

“So it feels good to be back on the clay now, and I enjoy it to be honest. Some of these rallies where you get pushed to the side, you slide, you hit the ball, you slide, you hit the ball, you come back into it, then you can defend in a different manner than you do on the hard courts, or on the grass.”

Roger will face the winner between Marton Fucsovics and Gael Monfils. Roger has a 2-0 head to head record against Fucsovics and 9-4 versus Monfils.
