Sebastian Korda, an American tennis player, considers Ben Shelton to be a “great role model” for the nation’s future athletes. Many consider the 20-year-old to be the top male player on the American tour, and he just showed off his skills in the US Open.
Shelton was knocked out from the semifinal of the US Open after falling to Serbia’s famous tennis star and current world number one, Novak Djokovic.
In a recent report, Korda was reported as admiring Shelton and saying that his influence on young people who want to pursue sports professions has been encouraging.
Korda stated his remarks about Shelton and said: “I think it is really great for American tennis and hopefully tennis in general. Hopefully, we are providing good entertainment in some way. I think Ben did a great job at the US Open. He just really showed the world what he’s capable of and what he can do in the near future. And he’s got a great game. He is powerful, entertaining and he loves to kind of interact with fans as well.”
He further added: “I think he’s a great role model for younger kids with the way that he plays. I think it’s awesome. It definitely pushes all of us to do better. And obviously, it shows the way, that it is possible for someone like him, or of any age, to be out there performing like him.”

LWLLWWWWWW Ranked world no.33, the American played his last match on the 28th of August when he lost to world no.58 Marton Fucsovics 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(1) 4-6 6-4 in the 1st round of the U.S. Open (draw).
Until now, during this year Korda owns a 16-11 match record. Sebastian Korda’s best achievement of this season was reaching the final in Adelaide.
Korda is scheduled to play next in Astana (Astana Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 27th of September.
Ben Shelton in 2023
Ranked world no.19 (career-high), Shelton played his last match on the 8th of September when he lost to world no.1 Novak Djokovic 6-3 6-2 7-6(4) in the semifinal of the U.S. Open (draw).
At the moment, during this season Shelton owns a composed 19-23 record. Ben Shelton’s most significant result of the current year was getting to the semifinal in the Cagliari Challenger and at the U.S. Open.
Shelton is expected to play next in Beijing (China Open). He is currently an alternate. The main draw will start on the 28th of September.
