Naomi Osaka and Su-Wei Hsieh are going to play each other in the 2nd round in Stuttgart.
Naomi Osaka
The world no.1 will kick start her clay court season in Stuttgart after she had a rather flat stint in the last few months. In fact, after winning the Australian Open, the Japanese had a not-so-great 3-3 win-loss record after she crashed out in the opening match in Dubai, in the 4th round in Indian Wells and the 3rd round in Miami.
As per Naomi’s words, the clay court is her least favorite surface. Therefore, she needs to find the right mindset if she wants to improve her record at the French Open where she has never managed to go beyond the 3rd round.
Naomi will start her run in Stuttgart from the 2nd round after receiving a bye.
Su-Wei Hsieh
Ranked no.24, the Taiwanese is one of the most talented tennis players with her uncharacteristic game full of variations. Hsieh has a 15-8 win-loss record in 2019.
Su-Wei reached the 2nd round in Stuttgart after beating Qiang Wang 4-6 6-3 6-4.
